Just like His title being the passover lamb, Jesus is also called the sacrificial lamb. The original passover event was done using the blood of the sacrificial lamb to be placed on the door for the God to passover them and avoid the plague from striking their family. So, Jesus being the sacrificial lamb is pointing to towards Jesus' death and shedding of blood on the cross. He sacrificed to redeem us from death and sinfulness.
As a sacrificial lamb He then had no escape from the sufferings he bore.
What is the significance of this knowledge? It's for you to ask yourself if Jesus is your sacrificial lamb of not. There is a great difference if you have Jesus as your sacrificial lamb.
But the question is how can Jesus become your sacrificial lamb?
