The Best Way to Celebrate Christmas?

The Gift of the MagiImage via WikipediaWhile we love receiving gifts on Christmas, we cannot deny the fact that the best way to celebrate it is by giving instead of receiving. What does giving mean?
I remember a story entitled THE GIFT OF THE MAGI which I think would best give a practical example of the kind of giving we need to do during Christmas. Don't get me wrong about telling it's the best example as against the example given by the person whose birthday we celebrate on Christmas. I obviously know that Jesus giving is the ultimate expression of love. His story is obviously the perfect example. The story I was talking about was merely the best practical example of giving.
First, you need to know the story because this is very popular during Christmas.

Second, it would be nice to think today what gift we can give that really comes from the heart. A good tip then: what can I give that requires me to give up something, or that requires my commitment.
I believe that giving out something is not significant. What is best is to give ourselves or if not at least part of ourselves.

Christmas Is For Adults Also?

English: Santa Claus with a little girl Espera...Image via Wikipedia
I did not hear this just once: CHRISTMAS IS FOR KIDS ONLY. Without further analysis on the statement it's easy to accept it for many reasons:
1. Most people like Christmas most when they were kids compared to now that they are older.
2. Most children are happier on Christmas because they receive lots of toys and gifts.
3. Most children receive money or Christmas presents from their godparents.
4. Most children believe that Santa Claus really exists and that he gifts lots of toys.
5. It's the happiest season of all for most kids.

6. It's a time when kids receive Christmas treats from their parents, relatives, and friends.
7. It's a season of dreams coming true for most kids.
8. It's a season when they are well remembered by friends and love ones.
9. It's a season when mom and dad, godparents, uncles and aunties are happy, kind and generous.
10. It's a season when kids have plenty of money, new clothes, and new toys.

However, if you analyze the statement carefully you will start to raise the following points:
1. If Christmas is for children only, what then is your understanding or definition of Christmas?
2. If Christmas is for kids only, your definition of Christmas is not about the coming of Jesus but the coming of Santa Claus.
3. Is Christmas synonymous with gift giving, giving of toys, Sta. Claus coming to town, shopping, money, abundant food, leisure, fun, eating voraciously, drinking immoderately, party, chocolates, or candies?
4. If Christmas is for kids only, then your understanding of Christmas may mean RECEIVING: of gifts, of toys, of money, etc.
5. Is your definition of Christmas shallow or deep?
6. Are you a real Christian or nominal or split level?
7. Do you really understand the true meaning and history Christmas?
8. What did your parents, teachers and friends tell you about Christmas?
9. Have you matured in your faith and in your world view?
10. Do you read the Bible? or Have you read the Bible?

I believe that your answers or responses to these questions matter most in your celebration of Christmas.
